I’ve been floundering through life for the past four months. A vessel of emotions and questions, seeking relief and answers. Feeling jammed up one moment and empty the next. Present, past and future all tangled up like a string of Christmas lights. (Or like pulling out a clump of laundry from the wash, the pant leg from a pair of jeans and a random sock tightly bound by the strap of a bra. Ladies, and gents who wash lady clothes, you know what I’m talking about.)
So tonight, this song. I heard it on CBC Radio 2 while driving home the other night, and it wrapped around me like a warm, beautifully woven blanket.
Sometimes we flounder.
