In a matter of a few short weeks, mother nature has shaken awake the foliage and flowers. They promptly stretched and said, “Let’s do this.” Ready to usher in spring, just like that.
It never ceases to amaze me, how quickly this change happens. Bare branches one week, colourful young adornments the next.
There should be a word for the specific feeling of pleasure elicited by a walk through the sights, smells and sounds of spring blooming.
Particularly during golden hour, that magical window when light gifts us with the unique sense of euphoria and nostalgia at once.
Then again, maybe that feeling is better left for the experiencing. Sometimes words just don’t cut it. Sometimes it’s between you and mother nature.
Nothing against Christmas but as far as I’m concerned this is the most wonderful time of the year.
Welcome to my happy place.
